Deeann Griebel Student Success Center

The Deeann Griebel Student Success Center strives to equitably engage each student during their experience at SMSU. We holistically support students in achieving their academic, social, and professional success. Our student-centered approach relies on sufficient resources for all students to receive extra help when they need it. SMSU will continue its tradition of meeting students in unique ways including:

• Intervention strategies to connect students to available resources and support
• Success coaching for eligible students from historically underserved populations to ensure they meet their goals, save money, and graduate on time
• An interdisciplinary peer tutoring program that supports student tutors through regular pay while providing other students access to academic support if/when they need it
• A nationally recognized Supplemental Instruction (SI) program that places highly qualified students in high-risk classrooms to provide peer-facilitated study sessions outside of regular class hours
• Programming and events to assist students with building a relationship with their academic advisor (Meet Your Advisor), the opportunity to learn about resources on campus (Mustang Success Night), and the importance of finishing the year strong in preparation for finals week (Finish Strong Week)
